Library
Project
PURPOSE: To construct a new 9,000 square
foot facility associated with the Metropolitan Library
System serving Oklahoma County. The Library Building
will be named by the City in honor of former Choctaw
resident (the renowned western author Louis L'Amour).
CURRENT STATUS: The new library was
designed by Elliot + Associates (an award winning architectural
design firm) of OKC. Construction contract awarded to
J.L. Walker and currently under construction.
FUNDING: General Obligation Bonds (City), Metropolitan Library
System and Choctaw Library Guild.
COMPLETION PROJECTION : August 30,2003
